The ID.BUZZ has a standard front seat center airbag, which deploys between the driver and front passenger, protecting them from injuries caused by striking each other in serious side impacts. The Wagoneer S doesn’t offer front seat center airbags.

Full-time four-wheel drive is available on the ID.BUZZ. Full-time four-wheel drive gives added traction for safety in all conditions, not just off-road, like the only system available on the Wagoneer S.

The ID.BUZZ comes with a full 4-year/50,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire van. The Wagoneer S’ 3-year/36,000-mile basic warranty expires 1 year or 14,000 miles sooner.

The ID.BUZZ’s corrosion warranty is 2 years longer than the Wagoneer S’ (7 vs. 5 years).

From surveys of all its subscribers, Consumer Reports’ March 2025 Auto Issue reports that Volkswagen vehicles are more reliable than Jeep vehicles. Consumer Reports ranks Volkswagen 1 place higher in reliability than Jeep.

The ID.BUZZ has a standard locking charge port which locks and unlocks with the power locks. The Wagoneer S doesn’t have a locking charge port. A locking charge port prevents tampering and damage.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the ID.BUZZ’s wheelbase is 14.5 inches longer than on the Wagoneer S (127.5 inches vs. 113 inches).

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the ID.BUZZ is 1.4 inches wider in the front and 1.2 inches wider in the rear than on the Wagoneer S.

The ID.BUZZ’s power side sliding doors make it much easier to load and unload kids and cargo. One touch opens the door, before you even get to the van. The Wagoneer S doesn’t offer a power rear door.

The Wagoneer S’ cornering lamps activate a lamp on the front corner when the turn signal is activated. The ID.BUZZ’s standard adaptive cornering lights turn the actual headlight unit up to several degrees, depending on steering wheel angle and vehicle speed. This lights a significant distance into corners at any speed.

Manual rear side window sunshades are available in the ID.BUZZ to help block heat and glare for the rear passengers. The Wagoneer S doesn’t offer rear side window sunshades.

The ID.BUZZ is available in both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations. The Wagoneer S doesn’t offer a two-wheel drive configuration.
